Vincenzo Hello, my name is Barbara and I was born in Santoriello Casoria 42 years ago. Living in Siena for over 20 years and this morning my sister, on the recommendation of my cousin, told me, published on your site, a picture that I am tied very much ... I mean the first section of "Places", gives the date of 27/4/1958. My sister and I own an original of that picture because the first lady on the left is Joseph (our mother, who died in 1999), the second and third respectively on the left are our cousins \u200b\u200bAngelo and Santina (in the commentary to the photos are shown at otherwise!), son of Philomena, beloved sister, Josephine. Also I always feel a lot of emotion when I see photos of those years. I remember my mother's stories, anecdotes, figures of speech, nicknames ... .. My parents, both natives of Casoria, often when we were little to tell us about their childhood and during their short stories I always tried to imagine the places as they were to be "in their time." Even when I was a kid, we are in years 80 and 90, often had to do an effort of imagination to imagine some places, much had changed in relation to their stories ... .. Today, then, when I rarely ever happen to return to my homeland, I am shocked by how many times it has become unrecognizable, transformed, violated ... .. even compared to the memories of my youth! I admire people who knew what, here where I live, may show the places of their childhood almost intact, Despite the years have passed .... a precious treasure that they have! I wonder if you realize it ....
My father has completed 91 years today! He too has lived here since 2001 in Siena and since leaving Casoria no longer wanted to come back ... .. and I understand that ... ...

Carissimo Vincenzo, finalmente riesco a spedirti la foto della mia classe - penso risalga al 1956 - , in particoalre in ricordo dell' indimenticabile prof Antonio Iazzetta, che fu nostro insegnante per tutto il ciclo. Dei compagni di classe, purtroppo, ricordo molto poco. Allego anche una vecchia foto del mio nonno materno - Persico Antonio - che fu presidente dell'associazione S.S. Sacramento dal 1930 fino alla morte 1948. Il tuo sito mi è stato segnalato da mia cugina Antonietta Iodice che abita a San Pietro a Patierno in via Emile Picard 5; penso sia una nuova strada, io non ne ho memoria. Io - in effetti - ho lasciato Napoli nel 1970, emigrando nell'allora mitica Lombardia. Mi dicono che il quartiere di San Pietro sia molto cambiato; recentemente ho ricevuto in dono dal mio amico di infanzia Antonio Esposito il libro "La collina di Capodichino" che ho letto con partecipazione e commozione. Non puoi immaginare la mia sopresa nel guardare la foto di piazza Guarino, io ho abitato al n°11 di questa piazza e conservo in mente ancora l'antica immagine. Mi dicono che anche la casa in cui ho abitato è stata demolita. Condivido pienamente le motivazioni da te espresse per la costruzione del sito: è un formidabile stimolo alla "ricerca del tempo perduto", in particolare per i tanti che sono emigrati e che - come me - conservano vaghi ricordi. Personalmente ho rivisto con commozione intensa le foto del mio zio materno Persico Pietro, barbiere con salone in via nuovo tempio, da ragazzo passavo interi pomeriggi nel suo locale: era una seconda scuola di vita. Analogamente il salone di Francesco "Ciccillo o' Barbier" Terracciano, cugino di mio padre. Ho visto una sorprendente foto giovanile di mia madre (Antonietta Persico) che ti sarà stata fornita - penso - da una delle mie cugine: Immacolata, Teresa, Angelina, Antonietta Iodice o dal loro fratello Lino. Ho visto cono altrettanta commozione una foto del mio cugino Tonino Capasso.
In sintesi, carissimo Vincenzo mi hai aiutato a recuperare ricordi ed affetti della mia lontana - nel tempo e nello spazio - infanzia e di questo ti ringrazio vivamente. Cari saluti ed auguri cordiali di ogni bene.

Russo, io sono Margherita Di Toro figlia di Somma Titina e Michele da Mondragone scomparsi entrambi 1991 da una lunga malattia.Le scrivi perché ho letto con attenzione il sito da lei creato e ho sentito tanta nostalgia. Attualmente io abito a Napoli zona Ponti Rossi, ho due sorelle Giuseppina e Anna cha vivono a Mondragone. I miei nonni erano Di Mauro Anna detta Nannin a’ spos e Somma Angelo detto Giulill o’ cavaller che sono nati e morti a San Pietro a Patierno. Ho ancora altri parenti che vivono a San Pietro: Somma Gaetano fratello di mia madre e la famiglia Di Mauro e Barretta parenti di 2° grado. La sorella di mia madre Somma Anna chiamata Ninetta vive anche lei ai Ponti Rossi nelle mie vicinanze.Ho molte foto, a me care, ma vorrei che fossero viste, ma non so come fare.
